Training Programme Structure
At Foot Anstey McKees, our training and development is supplemented with regular internal training sessions and seminars with a hands-on approach involving lawyers across all levels of our firm, from newly qualified solicitors to senior partners.
During your two-year training contract, you will gain experience across a variety of teams and become knowledgeable in many different areas including:

Seat Rotation
​
Seat rotation will, depending on business needs and requirements, take the following structure:

Seat 1: September – December
-
Seat 2: January – December (During attendance at IPLS)

Seat 3: January – August

Learning and Development
​
Each trainee will have a supervising Partner (Master) and a supervising Solicitor / Associate (Mentor).

Your Master and Mentor will meet with you at the outset of your training contract to set some initial learning objectives and development goals and these will be revisited and reviewed throughout the course of your contract.

Training contracts starting in September 2026 will open for applications on Monday 15 September and close on Friday 21 November. If successful, you will be invited to complete your online assessment after this date and will need to do so by Monday 8 December.
Our Vacation Scheme (taking place in Summer 2026) will open for applications on Monday 13 October 2025 and close on Friday 2 January. If successful, you will be invited to complete your online assessment after this date and will need to do so by Monday 2 February.
