Richard McLaughlin

Richard brings more than 25 years commercial law experience working with clients across the hospitality, leisure and licensing trade and acts for many leading local hospitality businesses that operate some of Northern Ireland’s most recognisable pubs, restaurants, local distilleries and breweries. Richard also secured the liquor licences for the 153rd Open Golf Championship at Royal Portrush in July 2025.

He advises on a wide range of business matters from inception to opening to trade, all licensing applications, acquisitions and disposals, enforcement issues and ongoing operational advice. His experience spans both independent operators and larger portfolio clients with a particular focus on supporting businesses through periods of growth, change and consolidation.
